Awards for decorations (table that is) is a coveted prize. The chili(s) are a treat but the showmanship is half the fun.
Kaw City's famous / notorious 5th annual Chili CookOff will start at 12 noon on Saturday, March 13. This popular event is always held indoors at Kaw City's Community Center in the heart of the city. Tables to display your prize product are FREE. However, should you just want to sample the various chilies ~ bowls, spoons and one soft drink are just $5 adults, $3 12 and under and kids under 2 years are free. Prizes awarded for 'Judge's Choice' chili, People's Choice of Best Chili and Best Table Decoration. Doors open at 10 AM for table setup.
